After attempting to catch some trains on the local subdivisions and finding cloudy skies and common power, I decided to take a side trip off to BNSF Transcon around Ludlow and Amboy Californina.
Starting late in the day by the time I reached Ludlow in late afternoon. Trains were running 2 to 1 westbound. But the shadows were getting longer so photo ops were short lived.
But here's three photos I did take:
A westbound freight takes the crossing at Amboy in the early evening light

And a older Santa Fe Warbonnet on point of this westbound stack as it departs Ludlow.

An approaching westbound at Amboy
