I'm not sure how many of you realize, but there are several beer brands out there that utilize the services of shortline and regional railroads. I can immediately think of two (though A-B encompasses many brands):
Yuengling-- Reading and Northern at the original Pottsville, PA brewerey, and
Anheuser-Busch-- Manufacturers Railway at the St. Louis, Mo brewery. A-B owns the MRS and the railroad dates back to 1887.
On a semi-related note, a fellow crew went into a bar on a layover in St. Louis. One of them asked the bartender "Do you have anything local?" He replied, "Bud, Bud Light, Michelob," etc. while rattling off the A-B brands. I'm sure he lives for that question from out of towners... :)
Any others from our members?
