What's your favorite railroad of the 1970's?

Mine is Conrail.

I wasn't born until 1982 (three weeks before the creation of NS), but I've always been real partial to the Southern Railway.

If I had to choose one, it would be Santa Fe.

Penn Central. The railroad I grew up photographing. Honorable mention goes to Missouri Pacific, even if I couldn't get a job with them while in college in Arkansas.

It would be a hard choice between Southern and L&N

Even though I wasn't born in the 70's, I still have always liked MKT. I lived close to the old MKT tracks that run parallel with Denton Drive in Dallas. Back then I was just getting into trains, and my dad told me my great grandfather ran a train on those tracks from Dennison to Waco, once ot twice a day. Good times! :D

Now good ol DGNO runs those tracks, which is now my favorite railroad.
