View Full Version : VIA Rail's Future Fleet
http://members.rogers.com/will2004/VIARail.gif
That's my fantasy version of VIA Rail's future fleet. All tracks will be electrified, and both the Express and Regional trains will be pulled by an electric and slightly smaller version of the GE Genesis locomotive. A high-speed trainset called "Sprinter" will also be acquired for the high-speed network. VIA Rail will use the current livery with small modifications, but Sprinter will have its own clean, bold, color-scheme.
(Those trains took forever to make...tell me what you guys think) :D

Very nice work ICE! I like it 8) One question though, how did you make those train sets?
Nice to see some interest. :D
It's actually very very easy. Use any paint software, like Photoshop or even Microsoft Paint. All you need to do is zoom in until you can see the individual pixels. You start with a template (or make your own, such as the GE Genesis locomotive I made myself) and color the trains whatever color you like.

This site has a lot of great work, you can take a look.
I got a few of my trains from http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/liveries/Train_composition_-_DB_EpV_Passenger.gif
If you want BIG templates, look here http://paintshop.railfan.net/ for everything, from locomotives to flatbed cars.
The last link is primarily north american, while the first two links are based on European railroads.
Hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask more.
Oh yes, you want to save your work as .GIF.
And you can paint right over any color-scheme the template car/loco might have.
Attention to detail and lots of patience, and you will have a great looking train! :D

Thanks for the links. I've been to http://paintshop.railfan.net before and its just amzing as to how many templates they have of locomotives and rolling stock and even structures.
Now I'm going to have to make an Amtrak train set... :D

No problem, and if you want to share the drawing with us but have image hosting problems, let me know. You can e-mail it to me and I can upload it for you. Have fun! :D
