Let it slide. There are 42 shots of that engine in the database, many of them by you, all of them in better weather. Keep trying rainy day shots though.

OK that is what I was thinking that, I love shooting in extreme weather though.

too much washed out sky, you probably already have done it but the wooded straightaway in Bunnel would probably do good for a rain shot.

That's the spirit! I've always maintained that the most inspired railroading images are taken under the worst conditions (rain, snow, fog, gloom of night, etc.). If everyone only shot on sunny days, just think how pathetic the selection of images would be.

This shot might not be the best rainy-day effort, but I applaud you trying to catch something in the downpour. Keep it up!

Bob - If you shot that in RAW, there might be some sky there to play with, but if that's a JPeG I think it is toast (as others have noted).

Bob, I think that shot looks pretty cool, may be just try and make it a little darker if you can with out making the front to dark.

Yup, that is it, the washed out sky detracts, too bright plus you can't see the rain. The headlight lights up the rain, maybe show more in front of the train so more light-up raindrops can be seen. But definitely keep working on the extreme weather shots. Find a spot without all the foreground grass, look for a surface that will show rain, harder, get some sheen.

Uh.....you could travel east and/or north several hundred miles and you'd then be in business. "It Never Rains in Southern California." Come to think of it, I can't recall getting wet any time I've been there over the years (quite a few times, in fact).
