Camera Puchase: Canon Digital Rebel: Need Information

I just recently purchased a Canon Digital Rebel. This is my first major purchase because the camera I have been using for the past three years now has been my parents Sony DSC-S85. I want to purchase a 75-300 lense for this camera for under $200 that is made by Canon. What model Canon lense should I purchase? Also what other accesories should I also purchase for the camera? Thanks

you're considering before you buy.

I would suggest a wide angle lens, such as Canon's 20mm,
or if budget allows the 17-40mm or 24-70mm. Also, a spare
battery or two, shutter remote and UV filters for the lenses
you buy.
