Sounds like the driver of the car attempted to commit suicide by having his car get rammed by a Metrolink, looks like it didn't kill him, but it killed nine others. :cry: :( :x

I hope the death toll doesn't go any higher. I know there are ALOT of people critically injured. :(

Fox News is reporting that there are now 11 dead, and about 200 injured. It's also been reported by them and CNN that the driver of the vehicle will be facing several murder charges. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims.

Authorities say that the driver of the car slashed his wrists and stabbed himself at some point of his suicide attempt.

This this crash happened 3 months ago, and they came to the conclusion that the man was trying to impress his wife by stopping his car on the tracks. He killed 11 people, destroyed 2 metrolinks, a UP SD70, the coupler from a SD 40, which is going to be a lot of cash. Hes going to be tried with 11 counts of murder

The SD70M will be returned to service. When I get some time I'll discuss how a cab car was able to knock a 396,000 locomotive on its side.
