If anyone is looking for some nice photo opportunities the Monticello Railway Museum is hosting its annual Railroad Days September 18 & 19, 2010. Adults $15 a day and kids 2-12 $10. Children under 2 are free.
Some exhibits include:
- NS Executive Locomotives.
- Dedication of restored SOU 401. A 2-8-0 Baldwin steam locomotive built in 1907.
- Republic Steel 191 exhibit. Recently received a new cosmetic restoration. This is a 0-6-0 steam engine.
- IC 6071 the first SD40.
-NS 4610 the "Southern" unit.
Free train rides. The best part is the great pictures that come from this event. I really enjoy it.
