i have asmall question
did u think one day that railfaning may cause problems to you ?
now you can forget the dagerous that come from high speed trains or locos think about the side of law i think that railfaning or specially catching trains pix is dangerous here in egypt :( its really agreat hobby when u spend your day with trains and locos in central yards watching hundreds of them so i wanna to know how can i catch trains pix without any fear from security or police and wat about taking permission from the railway organization plz i wanna advice

Mohamed is there any government agency that deals with the railway you could talk to in Egypt, or maybe you could talk to the railway company itself? I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, I'm thinking that their concern is industrial espionage or maybe even military espionage.

In Poland it's a great problem. But we still do this... without any permission...

wat will any railfaner do if police catch him in poland as its abig problem there u know here its too big problem and im doing it without any permission but im afraid if any police caught me wat i will do plz answer me man waiting for yur replay

Usually they just ask what I do it for and let me go and sometimes they check my id. But I am not a criminalist so they let me go again. That's it.

Here in india we have places where there are clear sign boards with photography prohibited written. I assume every other places is fare game.
I do keep a fair amount of cash to bribe if i do get caught.

I don't think anyone can really answer that question unless they're from Egypt.

The rights of citizens vary quite a bit from country to country, as do practices for interacting with law enforcement - I can't imagine bribing a police officer in the United States (then again, maybe I should...).
