Hi Guys I got some pictures that were rejected that maybe you guys could take a look at and see what could be done.

This first one was rejected for poor cropping. Composition of photo is poor. I personally dont think so. It gives you a detailed shot of the side of the loco.

Onto rejection #2 This one was rejected for "e photo needs to be closer to 1024x768 or 800x600 pixels" I have gotten that alot lately but when I resize the picture becomes all distorted and shrunk looking.

And rejection #3 was rejected for poor lighting. I guess I see where there coming from on that one. But the lights on the locomotive and looking all the way down is the whole focus.

*Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!

I didn't screen these, but a big factor you have to consider is that we have gobs of photos of the CP Holiday Train, so we are now having to be VERY picky about what gets in. While I like your photos, they just are not unique enough to seperate them from the oodles of other photos of this train we already have in the database.

Thanks for your submission and question. Have a good weekend.

Oh ok now I understand. Thanks for the help. What about the resizing deal? I have gotten alot of rejections saying photo has to be closer to such and such a size. But when I resize it to such and such size the photo gets really distorted.

Try going back to your original, and then crop a little more off the right side. When you resize the photo, it should come out closer to 1024 x 768.

When you guys say "closer to 1024x768 or 800x600," do you mean we have to make the photos smaller if they are larger than that, or does it mean that it should be that aspect ratio? I noticed that my photos are compressed when they are added to the site if they are very large.
