Hello!

I felt as though I should take advantage of this forum and I want to introduce myself! I'm Brandon Townley, I'm 17 years old, and I have high-functioning autism. I usually watch trains around Norfolk Southern's Sandusky District in Ohio.

There is one main thing you need to understand about this forum. We come across pretty harsh. If you find a comment insulting, just try to dilute the comment and don't take the place to seriously. Someone recently did, and the forum exploded. Its a good illustration of the first rule of internet forums. "Respect others and they will respect you. If you don't, you will get no respect."

Anyway, have fun. Another note: You're not alone on the young side of things. I am 16. Chase Gunnoe (Chase55671) is 15 and various other members are in between 13 and 20.

I will disagree with Peter, who is perhaps shaded a bit by our recent unfortunate thread. In fact we are frequently firm but, in my view, not that often harsh. There is a difference, and that is the spirit in which the advice is offered, and that is reflected in the language, which is often respectful. Now the advice may verge toward harshness, when deserved, but it is offered in a positive way, usually.

J, I was saying we come across harsh. I agree we're firm, but we come across harsh. That was my point.

Welcome aboard Brandon! I've seen your photos on RP, keep up the good work.

For the most part we're all helpful people here. Sure, some of us are rather blunt, but we all genuinely want to help each other improve their photography skills.

Just an FYI, you are doing it all wrong. The proper procedure is to submit a batch of marginal photos, then come on here, complain, insult everyone, make an ass of yourself and get banned!
