I am confused. All four of these photos were rejected for "poor cropping," but none of these pictures has been cropped. The three night pictures had a "poor lighting" comment also. Two of the night photos were shot under dense fog and one was shot under blowing snow. I am relatively new to posting photos and am only beginning to get serious into photography, so I'm just looking for help and any comments are appreciated.

It would probably be best just to let this one go. It has some nice composition with the reflection, but the exposure is off.

This one is iffy. You may want to try cropping tighter around the train and see what you come up with.

Crop it tighter around the train, and you should be good to go.

Your best one of the bunch. Try a vertical crop with this one to emphasize how the grain elevator towers over the train. You could try that or just cropping some of the left and right sides of the photo and see which composition you like better.

I like the first one the best; it's hard to get a good angle and shot of a P42! But, according to Mr Herndon, there's something bad about the color or something. Second one is nice, a little tighter crop sounds right...Third one got accepted. And the last one just got accepted, too. :)

Thanks for both your comments. I cropped two of them, resubmitted them, and they were accepted. The P42 in various combinations was rejected every time, and I chose to not crop the GTW GP38s because I would have to crop too much, losing the composition of the original picture (the way I like it!). As a beginner, I learn something with each submission attempt. So thanks again.
