Shot these today nothing upload-worthy but I figured I'd share where and what I'm shooting.

Gripped Digital Rebel XTi, Tamron 18-270 Di-II f3.5-6.3 VC

This was another one I actually uploaded this and it was rejected I figured it would it's not the sharpest work I've done I left some important tools home (read: shutter cord) and had to improvise. I'll remember not to suck next time LoL. I actually caught this on accident I was finishing up my Kodachrome project in the downtown area and happened to be by the crossing and I heard a horn, by the time I had my gear setup it was already there.

The rest of my gear, by the way, true to my screen name, is listed in my signature. I had a MASSIVE Kodachrome project I did using the Nikkormat and did some serious railfanning with it.

Looks like you forgot the "where" part, unless you meant FEC. I don't immediately recognize where these shots were taken...little help? Thanks for sharing your photos. Nice stock of equipment, too... :-)

Melbourne, FL, though I have been known to move around for specials. The RBBX Circus Train will be coming through here soon.

Got a second chance at the long exposure shot, and this time I remembered ALL of my gear. What you don't see is all the glare emitting from a lamp post to the left of the image, I used my fedora to shield the camera while I held the shutter open.

The two dots are stars in the background. I think I'll Photochop them out and upload it.

My guess the 2 dots are dirt on the sensor... not stars...

The two dots on the right end of the horizontal part of the crossing signal look like bright stars. But the spot on the left end (and up a little), what is that red circle? Some sort of glare?

If you are going to upload, you will want to do some cropping of some sort. You have lots of cut off stuff on the edges, cars, it looks bad. And waaay too much sky in the latter two, all the content is in the bottom half or bottom two thirds.

I'm not going to bother fixing it I live a block away from here and can go shoot it again at any time, in much better locations with less light and cars, next time not on a Friday night where everyone is getting plastered in the bars to my right.

Red spot is glare I forgot to get that in post. narf. but I was glad on how everything came out, the issues I had to resolve in my first few night exposures have for the most part been taken care of and that's excessive glare, sharpness and general stuff moving around in the photo.

anyway recent stuff nothing too special here. for some reason the AF decided it's subject was the 2nd diesel in this first shot so fail. but it's the circus train and I got it so I am postering.

and my first crack at noise reduction. the cable marker ruins it but I liked the projection of the light on the lead diesel. I still see a bit of noise nothing I would upload, this train normally shows up a lot earlier but I took the shot anyway since I had waited for it so long.
