Hi guys this photo was rejected for the following

Photo Submission Results:

Photo ID 100766 was rejected from the database.
Railroad: Amtrak
Locomotive: GE P42DC
Reason for Rejection: Poor lighting (common power, common angle cloudy day shots
generally not accepted)
» Appeal Rejection: http://www.railpictures.net/members/appeal.php?id=100766

*I do not agree with the rejection at all! Poor lighting? It is hard to get good lighting when its snowing out. The main focus was the snow. Yes it is common power. Its a snowy day shot with a pretty good characteristics. I managed to get the bridge and signal in the shot.

*I found these photos that are similar to mine on here

*Anyone think i should appeal it? Like always I appreciate any help given :)

This picture is a head on-shot not a 3/4 shot, which is probably why they took it.

This picture just seems brighter than yours. Perhaps you could touch it up and make it lighter.

Might be there is some dead space on the left that might need cropped out.

Good Luck!

Thanks for pointing that out Billy. I lightened it up and sent it back to them. So we will see what happens.

I don't know if you would call it dead space to the left. I kinda like the bridges being there. The shot is definitely brighter and clearer than the accepted CSX shot. I like your photo myself.

The thing that has me lost is the description. I see it's CP-99 but are these Amtrak's rails or someone elses? What the subdivision name? What's the 108 for when the engine is AMTK 106? Are the bridges named? Sorry  .....Just me ranting....:-P

Basically what I'm saying long windedly is I like the shot but the information could use a little work.

Thanks MJ. I was kinda in a hurry throwing it back on here. The shot was taken on the CSX Boston Line. Which is the line that runs from Boston, MA to Selkirk, NY. CP-99 is at the east end of West Springfield Yard. Train was crossing the Connecticut River Bridge. I sent in an appeal but it was rejected so im going to have to let that photo go and keep it for my personal collection. Thanks for your comment.

Heres the photo that I touched up a little in photo shop.

Your appeal for photo id 100863 has been processed and has been rejected.

Looks like a good shot...It's hard to shoot in low light but the snow adds a nice touch..Not sure why the reasons for cloudy day , common power etc.. are used, they have accepted many others including some of mine in the past that were on cloudy days.
