Any hope for there rejected photos?

I took these photos today. It was really cool seeing these 2 trains meet like this. I sent them in but got rejected. The lighting was not in the favor of the nose of the engines but I think they are pretty well lit. I think the 1st one has hope if i do some tweeks, any ideas would be helpful

Really neat shots. Unfortunately, I think the sun killed ya...

The 1st one I got reason as poor cropping so it might have hope. the 2nd got poor lighting

Doesn't seem to me that they can be saved due to the less than stellar lighting. An interesting photo, but as Ween said, the sun killed it.

Darn, I thought it was an awsome photo never the less of the lighting. I have gotten some photos accepted with no nose lighting but awsome backround or scenery I was hoping this would be one http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=53228
