Hi guys...

I gotta ask you for some help with idenfying this funny thing. My friend took this photo last summer at Green Farms, Westport, CT. Can you tell me what is it (model, ID no.), what does it do and which railroad owns this thing... :)

The machine in the forground is a ballast regulator. It has various wings, blades, plows ect to shape the ballast, and to keep rock off the tops of ties. The two machines behind it at Tampers, used to keep the track level and the roadbed solid.

Thanks... :)

But do You know what this number 'BR1507' stands for?? Is it the name of that machine, or is it the number?? This photo has been previously rejected for badinfo and we still dont know what to put in those boxes in the photo submission form. :)

I'm assuming that since it's a Ballast Regulator, the 'BR' in BR1507 stands for Ballast Regulator. Just a guess...

It belongs to the Metro North Commuter Railroad.

The first piece of Equipment is Ballast regulator.
Second unit is a Tamper
third unit is a vibrator rig it accelerates the ballast setteling, so slow orders are not neccesary for weeks to set ballast.

I ve seen those BR machines at work, dont want to get near those. Ballast and rocks are flying everywhere. Not to mention the dust and noise.
