Where's the best place to catch the Washington-bound Capitol Limited in Cumberland without being confronted by the police? I'm taking a trip to Cumberland in May and just need a little info (First timer here! :)).

The Amshack station in downtown.

That's where I went when I was railfanning there, alot of good angles. :-)

How long is the stop at Cumberland station for the Capitol?

I think it's just a "pit-stop".

You might loose the lighting there though for the westbound. The moutains shield the sun earlier than the actual sunset. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think PO29 gets there around 8 PM or so

Depending on how many passengers are getting on or off, the stops can last anywhere from a few to around 10 minutes.

I'll be catching the morning run of the Washington-bound Capitol, just a FYI.

If your catching the morning run (PO30), you'll be fine. Cumberland is an awesome place with many railfanning locations. Have fun!!
