Looks kinda wierd, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

That looks diffrent. I like how the bell is on the nose of the locomotive to.

The bell on the nose usually means it is an ex-C&NW unit

Why didn't UP order the ES44s and ACes with the yellow frame stripe?? They're just gonna have to replace them by 2010 or whenever anyway!

Oh well, that's just like asking BNSF why they only ordered 3 locos with the new logo, and not all of them.

Some of the SD70ACe's have yellow stripes, I don't know about ES44AC's.

BTW the stripe is part of an FRA rule that requires all engines to have a yellow or white Scotchlite stripe on the frame, I can wait to see what an Amtrak P42 will look like with a white or yellow frame stripe.

Joe, i have the answer to your BNSF comment, why didnt BNSF order 3 ES44's with new BNSF logo and some with out. According to CTC Board Magizine, Pg 7 of May 2005 issue, BNSF will have a overlap of paint schemes for a while till all of the older decals are used up by painters. Which makes sense, why waste the better looking decals for the new scheme.

Oh, come on now. It's not THAT bad...

You won't even notice it once it becomes widespread.
