Is the cost of fuel for your car/truck having any impact on your railroad hobby? Keeping you home when you would be out? Or are you just trying to ignore the $2.50 per gallon costs . . .

It's $2.19 a gallon here in Las Vegas presently, but between work, the Art council and other chores haven't chased anything in a month.

Around $1.80 to $1.96 here in Indiana. I think it limits me to short trips within about 30 minutes of drive time.

North of Detroit it is about $2.03 a gallon. Sticking close to home except for a weekend or so a month and depending on if it ever warms up over here.

Lucky you! The cheapest I've seen around here (Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania) is 1.95, though it averages around $2.09.

$1.989 at the Speedway on Main St. here. My car's been "bad ordered" with a faulty distributor for a little bit so it's not affected me too much, but that's probably gonna change now that it's fixed. Thank God my car's a 4-banger!

About $2.20-2.28 in Tucson now. The prices have gone down about 10cents from about 2 weeks ago but i have been so busy this month a havent been out since the beginning of April. I plan to get out this weekend though. The gas effects me a little bit but i have a Honda CRV with a little 4 cylinder that is really good on gas so its alright. I still dont like the prices though.

House work hasn't altered my railfanning, gas prices won't either.

I don't get it. On the way home from work, $1.88; ten hours later on the way into work, $2.05!

But like most writers in this post, work has kept outings to a minimum. That and the April Showers are running on Amtrak time. Arriving in May.

Me too!! So the $2.10 a gallon in Columbus isn't all that bad.

Maybe I should get a Hybrid and go two weeks on $25, or maybe some day a Hydrogen fuel cell car!

BOY you guys sure are lucky! Out here in California, we have gas prices like 2.50-2.80 and some places like small gas stations are charging over 3 bucks for a gallion of frekin gas!

Solution: Ride your bike.

And if you need to go 1000 miles, bike riding will get you there, eventually... :p

Or walk. Anywhere is within walking distance if you have the time. :D
