What for machines make a railroad in the USA?

I have a question: what kind of machines make a new railroad in the U.S.? I have seen a lot of pictures from locos but not one from machines who make a new railroad.

Thank you for the link. In Europe "we" use the same kind of vehicle to lay down the track. The diverence is that in Europe we do everything with small trains, one is laying the track, the other loco is ballasting(rock between the track) etc.
