I need advice for scanning prints, 4x6 ones to be exact. I know that film isn't the highest quality, but its all I can afford. Though I maybe able to shoot the occasional roll of slides. I also have an extremly crappy digital camera (1.3 megapixels) so digital isn't really an option. I have a Lenzmark Z82 printer/scanner. Some things I need help with are:
1. Getting rid of or minimizing those lines that run across some photos.
2. Color mode to scan in.
3. Good dpi to can at.
4. Any help at making the images appear sharp.
5. Getting the colors on screen as close to the print as possible.
6. Any other helpful information. :)

Thanks a lot!

I happen to have shot prints till last October, when I switched to slides (I had shot slides on and off since late 2002), and all of the photos I have here are prints since I don't have a slide scanner.

>1. Getting rid of or minimizing those lines that run across some photos.

Don't have them in my pics, sorry I can't help you there.

>2. Color mode to scan in.

I scan in Millions of Colors on my HP Scanner

>3. Good dpi to can at.

I use 200 DPI

>4. Any help at making the images appear sharp.

Try tweaking with the Unsharp Mask in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

>5. Getting the colors on screen as close to the print as possible.

The Hue/Saturation/Lightness Tool in PSP and Photoshop will work wonders here.

Hope this helps and good luck! :-)
