Is there a trick to inserting a picture here? I am having trouble trying to do this and several other things that are not listed in the FAQs.

When you click on "Attach Files" be sure the extensions are correct with no dashes, spaces or slashes, etc.

"Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip"

But how does that insert the picture?

When replying to a topic (or starting a new one) click the "Manage Attachments" button. It should be located below the text field you are typing in.

I have done that, and the picture still does not get inserted. What I need is a step by step of how this is done. You know like click this click that choose this choose that. A how to for dummies. ;)

Do you mean like this:

[photoid=109274]
<IMAGE=109274>

You have to insert the code:

[photoID="the id"]

Thanks, I'll try this. I'm crossing my fingers.

Just put it in the text box you write your posts in. Change the "the ID" part to the ID of the photo in the database. This is for a photo in the database right or is it from an outside source?

Outside source. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Oops. :sad:

When you post there is a little yellow box with mountains and a sun in it above the box where you type in your message. Click that then enter the URL of the picture into the window that opens. (The URL would end in .jpg or .gif or whatever, not HTML.) There's some way to open up just a certain photo from a website into your browser window, but I am not sure how. Some websites (see example below) show you the photo when you click the small photo.

Example: http://adsl-69-213-240-177.dsl.dytnoh.ameritech.net/amtrak/amtGEN42_61_69/amt61e.jpg

I put it within and and presto:
