After almost of month of cloudy weekends and other things to do, part of the gang got together Sunday morning for a day of shooting,. Our goal was to shoot 143 (with a new BNSF Gevo), 123 (With a SD40-2 leader) and 167 (with a new NS SD70M on the point) and what ever else showed up. The morning was slow on traffic, and then 143 hit a Tractor Trailor up North, which delayed everthing even further. We missed 167 as it left Danville (while we where out at the wye waiting on 143) but did snag a few keepers..

The lead motor on 143 (a brand new BNSF GeVo in the new paint) had sustained damage to the front steps and pilot on the conductors side, and the crew was told to turn the power at the wye. Here is 175 with a primer fish running around 143 as they wait to head around the wye.

After 175 clears, 143 pulls around, allowing this shot. From this angle all you can see is a bent plow and busted ditch light. Randy should have few shots of the rest of the damage later on.

My favorite catch of the day was 123. Classic N&W SD40-2 leading Two more EMD's. Here are a few shots of that one....

Ouch. That's gotta piss off the boys in the BNSF paint booth. I wonder what kind of invoice the truck driver will get from the railroad?

Nice shots and report, by the way. Gotta love those high-nose units...
