Me and my friends decided it was time to hit Stevens Pass and the wonders of the Cascade Tunnel. So we all piled into my Volvo 240DL wagon and began the 1.4 hour drive. We chased BNSF 4584 up from Sultan to East Portal. Hit her at 6 places. Not a record for me, but it'll do ;) There was adaquet snow on the ground, but none on the tracks at the East Portal. So with the help of my snowboard and some honor student thinking, we managed to make a huge pile of snow for a nice snow shot. I think the resualts speak for itself. And the fog was an extra bonus! So I present to you all at RP.net, the first snow shots from Stevens this season!

Awsome idea! I never thought about that. I think I'm bringing by snowboard with next time I go out railfanning when I snowboard. :-D By the way, did you find any good spots to snowboard?

First time poster.
Very nice shots there. Snowpics like those are the main reason I decided to join this site. Looking forward to more of those :) .

Welcome to RP.net Colin! And thanks guys for the compliments. Ill keep em coming!

And yes Slopes09, i did find a little hill to board on while waiting for trains. It wasnt great b/c there was no run out, but it'll get better once the East Portal has more snow.

Great shots man! Make me really miss snow. Trackside with a thermos full of coffee, toes starting to freeze. Not really going to see any days like that here in SC.

This ones from the vault and I learned pretty quick. Desperate times call for desperate measures
