View Full Version : Purple Sky in RAW format

Why do you get a purple sky in some shots when you shoot in RAW format? Also, what kind of train is this? Is it a track inspection train or just an executive trip?

Just a guess.. It might be because you haven't set your White Balance yet. BTW try to make your shots 1024x or 800x when you post

Nice catch, Mike! I've seen two of these trains so far. One was a test train and I'm not really sure what the other was.

Thanks, the track inspection train is what it looked exactly like. Though it seems strange for it to be flying through at 60 mph.
The RAW problem appears to be exclusively a RAW problem. When I converted them to TIFF, the color problem went away.

Was this a one frame flaw? I have never seen a problem like this in my RAW shots.

Yeah, its a one frame RAW from a Fuji camera. I've had this purple several times.
