Having this day my camera, my hand, my tripod
Guided so well, that I obtained the prize,
Both by the judgment of the Screener's eyes,
And of some sent from that sweet enemy, clouds;....
Some of you may recognize this as one of any British Literature student's worst enemies: the Sonnet. This is a parody of this sonnet (http://www.luminarium.org/renlit/stella41.htm) that I analyzed earlier this year.

I'm writing an article on Amtrak for my school paper, whose topics are more or less discussed in this thread (http://www.railpictures.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2801) . I wanted to get some pictures other that simply an Amtrak flying through Lockport, so I headed off to Joliet Union Station. I hoped to catch the southbound Ann Rutledge(train 303/323) and the northbound Statehouse(train 300), which were supposed to arrive at 5 minutes on either side of 9 AM. They both ended up being late though, not to say I wasn't either. While out waiting, I met another RP.net guy, Tim, who I talked to for a while. Then 303/323 began to pull into the station.

A BNSF freight also pulled up to wait for 303/323 to finish at the station(I'll talk about that later). Wanting to get some human interest shots for the paper, I shot a few pictures of the people boarding and departing passengers. One of them got in :-D :

Also, while taking pictures, a women in the pink coat began talking to the conductor, pointing and looking nervously/disdainfully in my direction. I don't think she liked me, but nobody ever bothered me.

As train 303/323 began to leave, train 300 came around the bend in the opposite direction. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was witnessing a three-way meet! I quickly went to full telephoto, resulting in this image:

BTW, Tim, if you read this, I'll try and get you the meet photos sometime this week.
Train 300 came and also took on and got rid of a few passengers. It then promptly departed.

The BNSF train that had been sitting for a while now finally got to come through. I tried to compose the shot creatively since I knew it was cloudy out.

I then left after the BNSF freight went through since I had a busy day ahead of me. However, it was a more exciting day then most.
I'd also like to thank whichever screener processed my appeals and gave me some advice on what wrong with them. Thanks a lot!

Great shots Mike! Nice report also! I've seen the lady who was pointing at you before. I believe she only works in the morning. I have to get out to Joliet again soon.

The shot of the woman in the pink coat talking to the conductor is Hilarious! The look on her face is great!

Nice shots, great report. I used to write/photograph for my school paper, but i never had an assignment that fun!
