Can someone tell me the disel locomotives that this new scheme is currently applied to? I keep seeing many photos accepted into the database listed as "GE C44-9W (Dash 9-44CW)" and believe that is incorrect because I thought the new scheme was only applied to "GE ES44DC" and some "EMD SD40-2".

I suspect only someone within the BNSF mechanical department has a comprehensive list. Since this is their corporate scheme, new units being delivered and repaints will be in the new image.

I've seen Dash 8's, SD40's, some GP/SD unit that I forgot and ES44's in the New Logo, The ACE's will have it, and supposedly it will be applied to SD70MAC's in the near future. (Either the Great Pumpkin or Barf Bonnet is supposedly going to be the first of their class to have the new logo applied..)

Given the information provided here, we are clearly seeing several mis-labled engine models.

Also, BNSF 9252 was in a wreck awhile back and is currently being rebuilt at Mid-America Car and will probably come out in the new paint scheme.

I guess this is directed to me, in some ways. I will have to change some of my recent uploads. It was the first time i took pictures on the BNSF and so i forgot about the different models. On the UP GEVO's are easy to spot, but the BNSF the GEVOs blend in.

No hard feelings Pat, this was not directed specifically at you I was just saying in general it seems like a lot of these units are being mislabeled. Again, I hope you do not feel that this is specifically directed at you.

5612 is not actually painted in that scheme, neither is 5603 which athearn also has for sale in the new logo.

Now, if you want a really nice model, save up another $180-$200 and you could get an Overland Tower 55 ES44DC. Their numbers are prototypical, great detail, and can come sound eqipped. While I think that $300 for a plastic diesel is a lot (which is why I didn't get one ;-) ), I think it is a better model than an Athearn.

I got a Tower 55 one. It runs and sounds great. I wish it had see through grills though and more functions ( I don't know which ones, just MORE)

I looked at the Tower version before buying and actually the basic Athearn model is simply MORE realistic looking than the Tower. Although is does not have sound, you can buy two Athearns for the price of one Tower55 model.

Look for BNSF to repaint 5612 and 5603.

More realistic? The Tower 55 unit actually HAS widow wipers, mu hoses, and the correct window placement. Not to mention the Tower 55 doesn't have that Athearn clickity click engine. Does the Athearn have working ditch lights? Just my 2 cents, but I think an Athearn looking more realistic than an Overland model is just bogus.

Please reread my post, I said "BASIC" Athearn Model is more realistic. If I wanted to I could always add hoses and wipers.

Notice the cheesy looking power truck wheel area of the Tower55 circled in red. Athearn does a much better job in this area and fuel tank area.

Notice the crooked snow plow. This thing cost $300.00. I can buy THREE Athearns for that price.

Although you are correct about side window placement being wrong on 5612.

Notice the crooked snow plow.
Well, that could be an easy fix, but getting working ditch lights in the Athearn could require some extensive work.

I'd fork over the money to buy one of those if they looked a little better. I was thinking of buying one of those UP heritage SD70ACe's but after I saw a few photos of the model I didn't feel like buying it.

Is there a generaly accepted name for the "New Logo". This is BNSF after all and "new" only applies for a year or two. I have seen New Logo, Heritage 3, Swoosh and Power Bar. I'm probably missing some. What does BNSF call it?

Spotted GP50 3124 last week. Cloudy day. Rats.
