Very unofficially (I think) nicknamed "The On Time Orange," the new Schneider train came through Terre Haute yesterday. The eastbound on CSX is the Q-106. Unfortunately, it came out of the sun, so the pictures are only newsworthy, not pretty. I'm hoping that some KCS power makes it through on this train eventually.

So far, I don't think it has run with KCS power on the KCS even. I'm sure it will happen, but every one I have seen on lineups has been with one or two CSX units.

Does it come through your area at regular times that you've noticed? Yesterday was the first time I caught it. I'm hoping it's not always eastbound at sunset.

It came in eastbound today in the early morning, but that was on the KCS. I'm not sure how long it sits at Rose Lake.

Here are two others I found....

IKCVN 08 was by Venice, IL, which is basically almost Rose Lake, at 05:27 on the 9th.

IKCVN 12 was by Venice at 09:18 on the 13th.

IKCVN 14 was coming into Rose Lake at 08:30, the KCS crew being told to tie it down.

Here is the one and only post I have seen so far concerning this train:

"Q106 is slated to leave Rose Lake at 5PM, reaching Marion by 7 AM the next day
Q107 is due out of Marion at 6PM, hitting Rose Lake at 1145AM the next day."

Whether that is true or not is beyond me. If it is getting in during the morning, I find it hard to believe they let it sit all day. Maybe that is the latest cutoff time or something. I'll try to find out more.

Man, sorry I missed your post. I didn't see it till today. Thanks for that information!

I saw "it" again this evening. It was sizing up to be a possible decent glint shot. I figured a bright setting sun on all that orange might look cool. But alas, the photo gods farted in my general direction again, and cast a thin layer of cirrus in front of the sun. THE RESULT (http://lahdpop.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=420010) (with some heavy handed post processing). One day......
