While looking at photos of the Ge E60CH electric,I notice that there is a large tank in the middle. Does it contain diesel fuel or what? What do you say folks? :D

The main air resivoirs would be in there somewhere...and perhaps a water tank for the steam heat boilers?? I know the GG1's had boilers...not sure about the E60's though...

I have never been a big fan of electric power...but the bull looks of the E60 is classic.

The E60's originaly had steam boilers in them so a water and fuel tank were needed, but since both HEP and Steam bopiler equipped units have the tank it could be transformer housing containing the coolant oil for transformer. as desugner I would hang the transformer low since it is a lot of weight right ?

The E60CPs had steam generators with the water tank between the trucks. On the E60CH's the batteries were located there.
