This engine was at our roundhouse the other day. I am trying to figure out what railroad it originally belonged to. Im thinking DRGW. Any thoughts?

It would be very cool if it was former WP there isnt very much WP power left in existance. WP did have the nose headlight like that. I think that a few of the goats we use may be former WP.

According to the following UP 9990 was built as WP 3556 built 8/13/71

Here is a sister unit from the same order

Glad to help, but hopefully your favor doesn't extend to those ugly old green WP signal cases!

Ehhhhh no. They were up there with the brown signal cases we have to use on our East end. The "Friends of the Columbia Gorge." made the UP paint its "ugly" signal boxes brown to blend in with the terrain.

I am always suprised how many cars from "fallen flags" I see still in circulation. I still see old WP, Penn Central, Great Northern, Rock Island, etc etc fairly often. The oldest car I have seen so far was 8-38. Prior to that it was 10-51.

For real. Today on the UP Geneva sub I saw a coal train that for some reason was made almost entirely out of older coal hoppers. Besides a lot of BN hoppers (which ironicly were some of the newer ones on the train), there were a bunch of CGW and MoPac cars!

I also see Southern box cars fairly frequently.

Was someone out waiting for 2001, 3300, and 1995 this morning? ;) Because I think I saw that train.

LOL Were you bummed because it was only the 844 and 4449?

There is an old WP boxcar floating around that I have seen twice now. It has a giant Stewie and Brian painted on the side. Also the UP 2001 and UP 1996 have been in PDX this last month.

As it turns out most of our goats are former Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, and of course Espee.

The WC 3025 is still hard at work on the CaNoodle system. Almost all of WCs GP40s are ex WP. The other ones thrown in came from the MILW RD and some CSX remnants.
