View Full Version : Mojave, California
I have heard that there is a viewing area of some kind at Mojave, California. If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate it if they would let me know.
Thanx!!

I spent 3 days in Mojave last week and never saw any kind of viewing area. I covered the yard area pretty well so I find it hard to believe I would have missed it.
Highway 58/14 runs right along beside of the yard through town which offers a nice view of operations. The highway crosses the yard at the south end of the yard:

Just north of town, morning light works best for southbounds coming under the signal bridge at MP377:

Hope this helps.

I have railfanned the following subdivisions UP Cima sub ( Las Vegas to Yermo) and BNSF Needles ( Barstow to Needles) as well as the Mojave sub. There are numerous photo locations but no railfan photo spots. Nor have I heard of any. But if you want photo site suggestions I have a few I can be reached off site thru e-mail. Ken
Thanx, Chris and Ken. I'm glad I asked! I heard a rumor to it's existence quite some time ago and filed it in the back of my head. It's nice to have a bunch of train-nuts to share info with. Thanx again!!
