View Full Version : Putting B&W Tmax negs on CD....

Help. I've gotten quite a few uncut strips of black and white negs (Tmax 400) that I need scanned to CD. These were all taken over the last few years before going digital and mean alot to me.
Anybody know a rough estimate of what this will cost, and what type of file they go in when scanned? Assume I'll not have the latitude I have now with RAW files, but will I be able to do anything with them? How about opening in the Canon editing software? Thx.

Tony, I see they have the capability to scan in either 2000 or 4000 PPI. If requesting TIFFs, which is better as there's not much difference in price per neg. Thx.

Depends. For me personally, I prefer the highest detail/largest photo to use as my working copy. Be aware though that if there's any noise in the original photo, its going to be amplified big time. Especially the higher you go in dpi. There's a few programs out there for fixing noise though.
