View Full Version : Paducah & Louisville UK and UofL motors (images)

The Paducah & Louisville RR, which is a regional running between its namesake ciities in Kentucky, has a tradition of painting a locomotive for each of Kentucky's major collage ball teams. In the past , a pair of former IC Geeps wore the colors, but those units have been retired. The PAL saw fit to paint two of its new (rebuilt) VMV geeps to carry on the tradtion. Over the weekend of Jan 10th & 11th, RJC "bowrrowed" these two units and a couple of P&L passenger cars for a meeting with state officials in Frankfort. The train was parked on the old F&C spur near the State Office building, in a decent place for photos. We did not make it down there to shoot them till late on the 10th, and the light was all but gone so you wont find these shots in the database, but I though folks might like to take a look at them here. Not a bad looking pair...but I am partial to the UK motor :)

I can't hear what y'all are saying about them Cards. Those 7 national championships are plugging my ears. :D
