I have saved all of my videos in widescreen format, but when I upload it would appear that they get 'squashed' into 4:3. Can you only upload in the 4:3 format?

Hi Mike
I had the same problem when I first uploaded video.
The way I edit for widescreen is to download from the camera into Ulead Video Studio (I found Windows Movie Maker not to be flexible enough) which automatically makes the project 16:9 as it auto senses the output from the camera. Before I add titles and edit the sequences I make the whole project 4:3 which is an option under the File menu in Ulead (something like edit project properties). This has the effect of making the 16:9 widescreen video appear in a 4:3 'window' with black bars at the top and bottom. I can then add titles in the top black bar and output the project to a WMV file prior to uploading.

Thanks Wizzo, I think I'll have to purchase a better program than Windows Movie Maker.
Nero or Ulead are the popular ones.

There's no freeware? Pisses me off my camera that shoot 16x9's own software doesn't accommodate it! I've had to go back to 640x480 which to me is lesser quality.

I've not looked for freeware. Ulead Video Studio was a freebie with a £20 Firewire card.
