Video extension uploading problems

I tried to upload my first video today on rail-videos.net. I am new to the whole video thing, so bear with me. The website would not let me upload the video because of the extension. I used Windows Movie Maker, and the only extension I can save it as is "Windows Movie Maker Projects" (.MSWMM). My question is how to save the video as either a ".WMV", ".MOV" or ".AVI" extension. Also, which of the three extensions is the most popular? Any help is greatly appreciated. :-)

Don't go to File>Save, that's when you get the MSWMM deal...there should be a step-by-step guide/window on the left, and one of the last items is to save your movie (save to computer, save to CD, etc.). I think it defaults to WMV...
