I don't think anyone knows what "Down River Michigan" means. I know I don't. Exactly what part of Mich are you talking about? Be specific.

eh Detroit is not downriver...im looking for something in Melvindale, Wyandotte, Allen Park, Lincoln Park...or somewhere near by but not Detroit...that site really didnt tell me where any yards where in the downriver area but thanks anyways...
Have you tired searching the database and seeing who has taken pictures at the areas you're interested in and then e-mailing them directly? Or have you searched any Yahoo Groups for 'Downriver' railfanning? Have you tried Google-ing what you're looking for? Have you tried Mapquest and zoomed in to see if there are any yards?
There're some suggestions; sometimes you have to be a little proactive to get what you want...

It cover more than just Detroit proper. You just have to dig into it a bit more. Look the the Conrail timetable pages for the Michigan Line and you'll see where all the yards are from Detroit to Kalamazoo, for example. There is also a page on the CSX Lincoln Sec, for another.
Also, you could purchase a SPV Railroad Atlas for Great Lakes East. It's a great reference.
