Hello everyone. I am attempting to upload my first video to RV and I have yet to succeed. I have tried many times and I keep getting a "bad user data" error. I have looked at other posts in the forum and tried what others have said about the bad user data because of the login status timing out, but nothing has worked so far. My video is 10min. long, 75.4mb and it is a WMV file. What could the problem be? Is my video too long?

It may be the length of the video, but it could also be too large a file or the file type. I don't submit to rv so I am not 100% sure. Maybe just try again.

Your connection to the site is timing out while uploading. If you are using IE7, start the upload, open up a new tab, and logon to the site again. Every few minutes, browse round the site on the new tab.
I've had to do this when uploading large video clips.

Unfortunately I have already tried that. I saw another post you made to another member so I tried it, but it doesn't work for me.

How often are you browsing in the other tab, and where are you browsing ?
Go into the members area and ensure you are logged in, then move in and out of the queued video every few minutes (no more than 5 mins between browses to be safe).

I opened another tab and I logged into Rail-Videos. I was watching others train videos as I was waiting for mine to upload. I made sure to frequently check between the pages and move around. I use Windows movie maker to make the video, so I remade a new video file. I’m not sure if that would help the problem or not but I did it anyway. I will give it another shot.

I believe 75 MB is the max file size. That may be your issue.
Good luck.

That may be the problem, but I thought under the rules to uploading it said a video file no larger than 100mb. So it is actually 75mb?

75MB seems to be the key... I almost always have problems uploading the vidoes I do here. Sometimes after about 20 minutes, I will hit refresh... then the warning comes up you can't and then I click "retry" and the thumbnails come up and I can choose one. Try that.
