This little chat is to see which is the favourite Railway In North America. I remind you that I am only doing major railways and am going to exclude all short lines and Commuter Trains. However if your favourite railway is a short line or commuter service click "other" and tell us why right here! If you have anything to say about your favorite railway feel free to post it here

I would love to see some votes by both Chris' and I would love to see some votes by screeners. I of course voted Canadian National not only because I think their paint scheme is something to look at and not dull like CP but also because they bring in the american power to Canada and if it was not for CN we would never see CSX and Union Pacific locomotives up our way!

Norfolk Southern. You can probably tell by the number of NS photos I have in the database. In 21 years of living in Lawrenceburg, I've practically grown up with NS since the merger between N&W and Southern was three weeks after I was born...

Well right now NS seems to be the lead Railroad which actually surprises me. I would have thought that CSX or UP would take the lead, but right now that does not look to be the case. Anyways, Keep the votes coming in

I would have to say CN is my favorite railroad. They are alway busy on the kingston sub. Between 1100-1200 there were 6 CN freights. It was great!

I would have to say CN.Love there color scheme, and love the traffic on the Kingston sub!
I also like the NECR(New England Central)Thats one of my favorite shortlines.
Well, growing up as a kid my mother worked for CSX (it was under other names during her tour Chessie, C&O etc.) so I really had a passion for them since it was the railroad in my home.
But now that I am getting gout there looking at other trains since I have moved to the West, I am starting to like UP a lot. I really don't think anything will ever top my CSX love though.
Just my 2¢

All time favorite: Southern Pacific. I was born in southern California, and saw my first train when I was 3 yrs old. We moved to Reno, Nevada when I was 4 and saw SP day after day. Over the years, traveling over the Sierra's a few times a year to see relatives, I watched these trains through some of the most beautiful scenery in all season's.
My next favorite is BN.
Since recently movng to Billings, Montana, I am starting to like BNSF, but still get more excited when I see the black and green's.

Yep, CN is the railway for winners..... However, I always seem to have a problem getting cab shots of CN. CP is no problem tho. I seem to like taking Cab shots, most of my pictures are cab shots.
