My first post.

I took this picture at the foot of the Great Wall, 30 km north to Beijing, China in Aug 2003.
This kind of diesel-electric locomotive is named DF4C.

That's a nice photo. Make sure you upload it into the database on the main page. BTW, I've been to China three times chasing trains. Some of my photos are in the database, have a look.

Yes, I've uploaded it the day before, but it got rejected because of bad angle. :(

I'm sorry that I couldn't understand your words very well, because English is not my native language. 8)

That's funny! I couldn't find the word deragatory in my Random College Dictionary.
My poor English! :(

Your English is better than that of a few native speakers I met. And you should not be ashamed that the word is not in your dictionary considering it was mis-spelled. He meant to say derogatory (note the O instead of A).

Aaron was asking if Ween was trying to be-little your English. Ween did give the impression of doing so which would not be justifiable. I wonder how many here speak Chinese, or any 2nd (3rd/4th) language for that matter.

Holy cow, people! Lighten up! Have none of you seen Yoda in the Star Wars movies? My post was a play on words of how Yoda talks:

'Star Wars' watching understand Yoda you will...

I took Chinese for two semesters in college, and I managed to pull off a 'D' and a 'C+,' so I have a great respect for people who speak/write/understand in more than one language.

My post was not intended to be derogatory to our new friend; it was intended to be a light-hearted observation. I'll stick to humor forums when I feel the need to let my sense of humor come out and play. In the meantime, in the sunlight, trains photograph I will...

Ok, I see! Derogatory, I've learned a new word today. Thank you very much! :)

Oh, It seems that there have been some misunderstandings between some of our kind and warm-hearted friends.

Below is a retired steam locomotive named 'JieFang'(Liberation) and coded JF with the axle arrangement of 1-4-1.
It had been exhibited in the China Railway Museum, Beijing.
I took this picture in Aug 2003.

I'm not sure why they rejected this photo for "bad angle". I would consider appealing it.

Ni Hao Ma Pengyanjia?

Glad to see that I am not the only Canadian Born Chinese person who is a railfan.

Have you heard of Fuzhou? I'm sure you have, because my girl (friend) is on vacation there. Can you tell me what kinds of trains would the city of Fujian be using?

I been to Hong Kong, Bejing, and the Great Wall of China only once. I even got a chance to ride on the MTR in Hong Kong. Pretty quiet compared to the Loud and Noisy Subways that they have here in Toronto, Canada.

Is there really a Locomotive called the XSG something..... I'm not too sure, but its a diesel locomotive in China that I used to have in the computer game Train Simulator.

Nice to meet you, Mr. Knight!

Have you heard of Fuzhou?
Of course, I have. Fuzhou is the provincial capital fo Fujian which is one of China's provinces. But I'm not sure what kind of trains being used there.

Is there really a Locomotive called the XSG
XSG is a DMU (diesel multiple unit) running between two big cities, Shanghai and Nanjing, southeast of China.
The XSG stands for three Chinese characters Xin Shu Guang (new dawn).
