Rejected for "bad angle"

Sorry, but I agree with the rejection. Even though that particular unit (a GP28P, with only 10 such units on the BNSF roster) is rare, the angle is not great. Do you have another shot of that same location where the locomotive more broadside?

Is the original large enough to attempt a re-crop? Take the phone pole off the left hand side and the rails off the bottom should give you a proportion that would be correct when resized.

The angle is still a bit off tho, I agree with Guildford350. A photo with the unit toward the left of the frame, or standing far to the right of where this one was taken would give more of a 3/4 photo. I've taken (and uploaded) my fair share of roster shots, but without more of the train in the frame, or a more scenic location the angle is just off.

After reading the post above I now know this is a rare unit, but that's not something I would have known from looking at the unit itself because the unit can't be clearly seen.

Try the re-crop and see how it looks.

Thank you gentleman for your comments. I did get a shot accepted: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=80448.

I tried several times to submit this pic:

cropping was the rejection everytime. I like the interaction between the crew members, but apparently I couldn't crop the image enough for the screeners.

I think I like this shot (above) better than the one that was accepted. They are both nice, but as you say, the crew interaction is something. Perhaps a comment on the photo along the lines of... "Railroading by handsignal, a lost art."...might have shown the screener what you were trying to portray with the original photo.

Just my 2 cents... :)
