Gallery: Caboose Shots

If there is a Caboose gallery, I can't find it. And I must have searched for two minutes.) So here we go, add away. I'll start with the Cockaboose Railroad where USC (no, Charles, the other one) refurbished some old Soo Line and Illinois Central cabeese for tailgating platforms before their football games.

That one has seen better days.

Gosh, Joe, you must have intentionally omitted the caboose shot with the wacky scheme from the other thread. :)

Here are my only three, starting with a recent favorite:

[photoid=309799]
[photoid=213533]

Hmm, each has lots of views. I need to go find some more cabeese to shoot! :)

Just three for me:

I only have one on RP with a caboose in it:

Unfortunately, I don't have any caboose shots that are actually in service. When I moved to Columbia, CSX would use one of some runs out of Cayce, but they were usually in the middle of the train (saved for a shove move at some point)

Hey, wadda ya know, I have a few:

And Janusz, I think you forgot one that panned out pretty well.

Paul Duda ran into him also! Same day, same town, different location. (I went looking to see if the guy's closeup on the dwarf ended up on RP.)

A couple friends and my Son had some fun putting shooting these two one night after photographing the GCK engines at the Cumberland Station.

Janusz's Chessie System caboose kept this photo of mine from the Top 24 that day. :grin:

Yeah, I presumed when I clicked on it that I would see a FRED on that unit, but none there, so it's a puzzle. (And now I realize, of course, that IM trains generally don't rate pushers.)

JimThias 09-04-2012 02:09 AM

Oh, I guess I should have read the caption. I was too busy scouring the image for a "modern day caboose" to realize it was a pusher. :lol:

JRMDC 09-04-2012 02:49 AM

Oops, I missed the caption also. And I see that some IM does get a pusher!

A few...

[photoid=213763]
A couple of static displays, if they count
[photoid=256071]
[photoid=293220]
And lastly this one might technically not count as a caboose as it's been converted into a "Camp Car". Also, while their website says "The 'Canyon View' is a former Green Bay and Western caboose..." some have argued that it was actually a "Business Car". Be that as it may, it still has conductors' desks at each end so it counts as one in my humble (and under-educated) opinion.
