I understand the underexposure on the first shot, but as for that shot's composition, and the BC on the second shot, any tips?

I think the train is too buried in the first shot for it to have a chance. You need more of the train's silhouette for that scene to work.

Yeah. It is majorly cropped (alot chopped off either side), but maybe ill just chuck that one than. Any advice for the second shot?

I would let the second shot go, because the shot of that train that you got accepted is by far the est of the two.
