Very cool. Should be interesting to see if they can find it and what condition the locomotive is in.

Great story. After searching Richmond area TV station websites, I was able to learn that the city of Richmond had issued a "stop work" order on the project.

Work on the tunnel excavation has been delayed for two reasons:
(1) The company doing the work pparently did not obtain all the needed permits. The compay is presently working to obtain the needed paperwork.
(2) When a camera was lowered into a small hole in the hillside, it was discovered that the tunnel had filled with water, and the city is concerned that draining the water (which the excavating company had begun) might destabilize the hillside and lead to further cave-ins. Consultants have been hired to assess the status of the hillside.
