Vertical Format Shots

Need some advice here please.

I just had a vertical shot rejected:

"The photo is either too narrow vertically or horizontally. For normal landscape images, our recommended height for a 1024 pixel wide image is 680 to 768 pixels."

This is not too helpful as the recommendation of size is for horizontal format.

My shot was 768px high x 512px wide.

Question is what px size do others submit their vertical format phots?

Hi Alan,
Vertical images i submit are 667px wide X 1000px high hope this helps.

I think the minimum dimension in either direction is 600. I generally submit 900 high as I don't like a vertical that I have to scroll too much to see. I go above 900 when I need to get the other dimension above 600.

My 4:5 ratio portrait crops are either 608 x 760 or 640 x 800. Here are a couple examples:
