Confused about angle

Thanks everyone for the advice, I'm keeping this one for the "personal collection".

I think you should appeal, because I don't see anything wrong with it, except the fact that part of the lower truck of the first engine is covered up a little by the track.

I can't remember if this was the area near the siding; I think it is. That explains why the track covers up the truck.

The shot needs serious cropping to get the extra space ahead of the train out as well as the dead space that is the dirt parking lot ahead of the road. When you get past all of tht, however, you still have the trucks partially covered by the tracks which may not be something you can overcome in this shot.

Aside from the cropping issue, we have more than our share of standard wedgie shots of BNSF motors (as we do UP, NS, and CSX). Try to include some more scenery or more of the surrounding landscape. California is a great place to shoot rail photos ... don't limit yourself to just another standard shot. One thing I hear a lot from our more creative uploaders is that they wish that the creative nature of submissions would increase......(and I agree).

Take advantage of the scenery since you've got it and leave the boring stuff to those of us in North Dakota!!

And all the pics of trains hidden by lots of trees to those of us in the east ...
