Foreground clutter ... win some lose some
Hoped to catch the screener in a not too picky mood. I thought it was a neat perspective. It certainly was a neat experience to to have half a million pounds rumble over your head!! The traction motors were clearly visible.

So a railroad bridge is "clutter"? Who knew?

Maybe if it was level, had better contrast, and portions of the clouds weren't blown out it could stand above the clutter rejection? I think the abutment is playing into it more than the bridge blocking the right side of the plow too. I haven't been down to the dock there for a month or two (they move it around) but maybe if you would have ventured farther out and composed a section minus the abutment? Not exactly a shot you can easily redo travel wise though.

I don't see the issue with "clutter" but I also don't see this getting on as is given the lighting/edit.

Not sure what is below but a vertical could add more drama/perspective and is the type sometimes showing up on Magazine Covers. Its all about the light and the nose. Grubby snoot, flat lighting and edit as noted. Like the idea with a sharper unit and light.? Bob |
