Rejected Photo

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=164489

Reason for rejection: Poor backlight (not enough light on nose of subject)

Comments?

It's a tad soft as well (not horribly), but the isn't bad. I might be a good idea appeal this shot and see what happens.

For the rejection of being backlit, "not enough light on the nose of the subject", I don't think this very nice photo will make it in. It's too bad, since the loco is black, and the shadows are hardly noticable.

That pic is AWESOME! I don't know of any other picture that got that close up to a steam engine, and its a pretty sky. I think you should appeal it and see how it goes

I can see by looking at the wheel's shadows that it's a bit backlit, but you can hardly notice on the actual engine. Good photo nonetheless.

Thank you to all who responded. I would very much like to appeal the photo to see if it can be accepted the second time around, but the problem is, I deleted the email I received with the link to the "Appeal Photo" option! I sent an email to the admin to see if he would forward my appeal to the screeners, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

One quick question: would it help if a lightened up the photo a little, or do you think it could make it as is, or is it beyond help?

Thanks,
Christian S.

I think you should leave as is because if you lighten it up, the locomotive is going to look gray instead of black.

Appeal rejected. Oh well, the loss is not mine, I guess... :p

Very very nice steam shot. The loss is not yours, it is the RP viewers.
Thanks for sharing it here.
