Darkness Issues
Hey guys,
I recently got rejected for Poor Lighting on this upload. For this time of day, I feel like the train is amply lit, and no detail is really lost from what I can see.' Any recommendations? Maybe they just want it a tad bit lighter? http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...82&key=6518594 Thanks Davis |
Feel like this shot has potential, a lot of it actually. But I just can't get over the noise :-/. The edges of the trees look pretty blurry too. What were the camera settings, if I may ask? As for the rejection, it's legit. I'm afraid if you lighten it, the noise will get worse

Hey Ben,
IIRC I was at 1/400 on Shutter Priority. I gelled on the ISO though and I think I had it left on 400 from daytime shooting. I tried again, slightly lighter, but still no dice... http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...38&key=8282104 Davis |
I don't think this one will get on. The train is really not lit well enough. And the sunset is hidden by the trees.

Davis, call me crazy, but what I would do is try not to make it into a daytime photo, know what I mean? Actually tone everything down a little bit, it's going to be creative and artistic, and RP might not take it because of that fact...but think outside the box. Going to have to work at it with this, but my mind is seeing something pretty wild and crazy here. Trust me when I say I see a lot of potential in this shot.

What I'm saying is, they're saying too dark....I say not dark enough

Haha thanks for sticking with me! :P
Do you think I'm going the right direction here? I've been playing around with a lot of different levels of light but I kind of like this: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/v...lRP2dark-1.jpg Davis |
