Oh Dear...

Having arrived back from Wales, I decided to try and upload some photos here.

First I tried this one:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...key=1090838667

Didn't think it was that bad, but I suppose I understand that the lighting isn't great.

Second one made it:
[photoid=325960]

Third one didn't:

I thought it was interesting, but I guess the screener didn't agree.

Fourth one:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...&key=730257227

Again, I suppose I understand. The washed-out sky is unappealing in some regards.

Fifth one:

I guess Mitch is right...RP just doesn't want dog photos.

Sixth one:
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...&key=433682898

Yep, dark. No argument there. I made it brighter, and I was about to upload it to RP when I discovered that the screener reduced my 24-hour upload limit from 10 pictures to 2. That seems harsh, seeing as how not every single one of my photos was rejected for the same reason, and one was even accepted.

Thoughts? Is there any way I can get my upload limit back up to 10 pictures?

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the world famous Mitch Goldman......

Nikos called that one! I have a feeling it is safe to say we can expect a post from the pan man soon.

One can't even tell in the dog shot that one is looking at a piece of rail equipment as opposed to, say, some construction equipment. PEQ

I'm still curious to know, why was my upload limit reduced?

Hard to say. What was your pattern of acceptances and rejections prior to this batch?

That is one of the great mysteries. If you do actually find out you will be the first to know; please come back and tell the rest of us.

I'd say about 50/50.

I don't understand the dramatic drop, especially without any warning.

No offense, but I'm not willing to pay money to a site where no one in charge has explained why action was taken against me.

It is intended to suggest a signature as opposed to just the typed name.

The slash as an indicator of an ending comes from HTML (and perhaps other places as well, but that is where I know it from). So "/Mitch" means Mitch has ended what he had to say.

Neat! Thanks, J!

It's been a week since I've PM'd Chris and sent an email, yet I have received no response. I'd still like to know why my upload count was so drastically reduced.

Holloran Grade 06-06-2010 05:45 PM

Too Many Rejections

Simple explaination is that you have too many rejections and so far you have not figured out what types of images and quality the screeners are looking for.

I am a little suprised they took the one they did since the sky is blown out and there is a lot of distracting stuff in the foreground.

The way to get your upload limit restored would be to get another 50 or so images accepted and then say Mother may I.

And don't expect more than 5 a day.

Also if you are going to submit dog pictures and things that are arty farty, only do one a day.

The screener actually showed you some mercy since your upload limit is not one a day.

milwman 06-06-2010 08:17 PM

Under Elite benefits it say's everyone is at 2 uploads a day so maybe its not just you thats down to two?
