It's really excellent.

Yeah, I must agree with Charles here... It is a great shot Karl, I hope you've appealed it!

If this shot doesn't get in, we should start a petition. And if that doesn't work, revolt against the system!!

Good idea Jim, but the revolt has already started.

Both our avitars are really "revolting" :-P

Neat shot! As mentioned, with the right post processing this one should be in the database. I look forward to seeing a re-worked image.

Well, if that's not a vote of confidence, I don't know what is. http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif

Clearly a neat picture that cries out for post processing to make it better. But not an easy project. Here is the best I could do, bet there are others who can do better.

Still not in yet? Perhaps if Karl sent several of us here the original, unedited file, we could all take a processing stab at it. It's worth a try! :-)

I'd be up for it - would be a fun challenge.

karldotcom 07-31-2008 12:31 AM

I give up!

So, Karl, are you going let others take a stab at editing the original?

Joe the Photog 07-31-2008 02:41 AM

Forget the second reject of the post above Jim's. Concentrate on the first reject, the one with the train in the background. That's an awesome shot and I feel secure in my opinion that if you had submitted that to a magazine, it would have got published. That's a fantastic shot. Not time to give up by a long shot. Let Jim or one of the others have a go at it.

Karl,

Please don't give up. It's such an awesome shot. Sure to be most viewed the day it gets in.

(I was lucky enough to be standing next to Karl when he took that shot... and I blew mine... so I feel a personal vested interest in encouraging him to get it in. He knew what he was doing, when I didn't know what I was doing.)

Nice....

It's really a classic shot, Karl.

Like they always say.....6th time is a charm.

I think they should have taken your last rejection. The image quality and contrast is better than the one that was accepted. Still a great shot, though, and good to see it finally made it in.
